St. Peter & St. Paul Anglican Church will host its fourth annual chili cook-off on Saturday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 3900 Morris Lane in Arlington. The church's event page says the Arlington Police Department is working with the church and the community to raise money for Rescue Hill.

How to enter

Home cooks can enter a pot of chili for $30. Registration is open through October 31. Entrants can mail a check to the church marked Attn: Chili Cook-off or pay by credit card on the church's Give page under the "Chili Cook-off" fund. The event page links to a cooking rules PDF for anyone planning to compete.

Questions can go to the church office at 817-496-6747.

Where the money goes

Funds raised support Rescue Hill, a certified nonprofit that serves adult survivors of human trafficking in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. According to its programs page, Starla House offers 30- to 90-day programs for single women, pregnant women, and mothers with young children, and its advocates take referrals and crisis line calls around the clock.

Rescue Hill also says it works with the North Texas Trafficking Task Force and with the Arlington and Dallas police departments on victim recovery operations. People who cannot attend can give through the nonprofit's online donation page.

Before you go

The church's event page doesn't say whether guests can taste entries or vote for favorites, or whether they accept donations at the door. Call the church office before heading over if you plan to attend without entering a pot.
