The Tipsy Oak Keeps Arlington's Patio Season Going Past Dark |
Craft beer, live music and comfort food make this Urban Union icehouse a Front Street mainstay |

The Tipsy Oak, an icehouse-style restaurant and bar on East Front Street, has spent nearly a decade building a following around its open-air patio, chef-driven comfort food and more than 30 beers on tap.
The restaurant sits inside Urban Union, the Front Street district just minutes from AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field, and has become one of the corridor's original anchors.
Weekend nights bring live music to the patio, and dog-friendly outdoor tables make it a regular stop for residents walking the neighborhood with their pets.
On the menu, shareable starters such as bacon gouda queso and brisket cheese fries are frequent picks among regulars, according to the restaurant.
The honey chipotle chicken tacos pair sweet heat with a cold draft beer, while the lobster roll is called out repeatedly in customer reviews as the kitchen's seafood standout.
Burger fans can order the jalapeno burger or go further with a double-patty, double-brisket, egg-topped version finished with seared cheese and gouda queso. |

The blackened salmon BLT offers a lighter alternative to the heavier tavern classics on the menu.
The Tipsy Oak runs brunch Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the patio turns into a full watch party on Cowboys Sundays, with all-day Bloody Marys part of the draw.
Weekday hours run 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, with Friday open until 2 a.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
The Tipsy Oak is located at 301 East Front Street in the Urban Union district, within walking distance of several other restaurants and shops along the Front Street corridor.
Longtime Arlington residents often bring visiting friends and family to the restaurant as an introduction to the city's dining scene beyond the stadiums.
For diners new to the area, staff recommend a Friday or Saturday evening visit, when the live music is playing and the patio is at its busiest.
Reservations are not required for most visits, though large groups on game days should expect a wait during peak Cowboys Sunday hours. |

The restaurant can be reached at (817) 962-0304, and current menus and event updates are posted on its official website.
Parking is available around Urban Union, with additional spaces typically open along Front Street outside of major stadium event days.
The restaurant's longevity on Front Street has made it a fixture of the broader Urban Union redevelopment, which has transformed the corridor into one of Arlington's more walkable entertainment districts over the past decade.
For residents looking for an evening that mixes craft beer, live music and comfort food without leaving Arlington, The Tipsy Oak remains one of the Front Street corridor's most consistent options.
Game-day crowds tend to build steadily through the afternoon on Cowboys Sundays, so fans hoping to grab a patio table close to kickoff should plan to arrive well before the opening whistle.
The restaurant's pet-friendly policy applies to the outdoor seating area only, so owners bringing dogs should plan to sit on the patio rather than inside the main dining room.
Visitors looking for a quieter introduction to the menu may prefer a weekday lunch, when the dining room and patio are typically far less crowded than weekend evenings. |

The double patty double brisket egg burger sounds like a guaranteed nap afterward but I respect it. That is commitment to a burger.
Nine years and I had no idea this place was right there near the stadiums. I always just leave after games. Adding it to the list for next season for sure.
We brought our dogs out there a few Sundays ago and honestly it was perfect. Relaxed crowd, good music, nobody bothered by the pups. The bacon gouda queso disappeared in about two minutes flat.
Sounds like a perfect Sunday to us, the bacon gouda queso has a way of vanishing the moment it hits the table, and we're glad the pups felt right at home on the patio.
That lobster roll does not get enough attention. I had it last spring and still think about it. Not what you expect from a place with 30 beers on tap but they nailed it.
