UTA Student Voting Rides Extended Through October 30 |
Mav Voter Express has three reported ride dates left, while Tarrant County early voting runs through Friday. |

University of Texas at Arlington students still have three reported chances to ride Mav Voter Express to an early-voting site this week. Student Government extended the van service from the University Center to the Tarrant County Subcourthouse in Arlington, according to The Shorthorn's October 22 report.
The remaining rides are scheduled for Tuesday, October 27; Thursday, October 29; and Friday, October 30, 2026, from noon to 5 p.m. CDT each day. The extension also included trips Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24; those dates have passed. October 30 is the final day of early voting for the November 3 election, according to Tarrant County Elections.
Where the vans go
The service takes students from the University Center to the Tarrant County Subcourthouse at 700 E. Abram Street, Arlington, TX 76010. That address appears on the county's official early-voting location schedule, which lists the subcourthouse as a polling site. The Shorthorn reports that Mount Olive Baptist Church and Bethlehem Baptist Church are helping provide transportation, with vans supplied by UTA and Mount Olive.
The Mav Voter Express extension follows the loss of the Maverick Activities Center as a voting location for this election. Student Government cited that change and students' transportation needs in its announcement, The Shorthorn reported. A campus rider can use the van to reach the subcourthouse, but should not assume the university center or the Maverick Activities Center is itself a voting site. |

Know the two schedules
The noon to 5 p.m. window is the reported ride-service window, not the polling-place hours. The county's election schedule lists 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CDT for early voting Monday, October 26, through Friday, October 30. Students can verify those hours and the subcourthouse location in the county schedule before leaving. The later polling close does not mean the Mav Voter Express vans will run until 7 p.m.
The Shorthorn says the program began Tuesday, October 20, and had already taken more than 30 students to the polls when Student Government announced the extension. That figure describes the launch period reported by the campus newspaper; it is not a current ridership total. The article does not provide a confirmed van frequency, reservation rule, or exact University Center pickup point for the remaining dates.
Before you leave campus
Check Student Government's latest instructions for pickup and any schedule changes. UTA lists a phone number and email on its Student Governance contact page. That page is a way to ask about the service; it is not a live van timetable. Leave enough time for the van ride and a possible line at the polling site, especially on the final day. If the van timing does not work, the county voting schedule lists other early-voting locations and hours; confirm a location before making another trip.
Bring an acceptable form of identification. VoteTexas explains the state's voter ID rules and what voters can do if they do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain one of the listed photo IDs. A student card is not one of the seven listed photo IDs, so check the official guidance before heading out.
The practical point is simple: the shuttle offers a campus-to-poll option on three remaining afternoons, while the county controls voting locations and hours. Verify both schedules on the day you plan to go. |
